One Up (One Down)

from York Sessions (2001) by Paul Aitken

/

about

This tune is based for the most part on two intervals, a minor second (ascending or descending, hence the title), and a tritone. The form is AABA with each section six bars long. This was initially a tough one for us to get our heads around, but after a few rehearsals it felt quite natural.
